Advent Calendar

This calendar is well worth the work! Each tag is indivdually crafted. I distressed the edges of each tag then embossed the edges of each tag. The designs are either, art acetate by PK Glitz, family photos, trinkets, and do dads from my collection. I just added embellishments to each tag to make it my own.Janelle, the owner of PK Glitz ,suggested writing a brief note or thought or even a memory on the back of each tag so in the years to come it will truely become a family treasure.

Projects from the PK Glitz Retreat

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the PK Glitz Retreat in KY a couple of weeks ago. I had an amazing time. Jim and Janelle Marshall, the owners of PK Glitz  were so gracious to have everyone. The retreat was full of awesome talented ladies. The classes were fun and informational.
Jim prepared the meals for both lunch and dinner. Yummy!
Here a few of the projects we did. The card with the Gingerbread Man is scented. Who wouldn't love to receive that cute little guy? The one with the Shepards has an enameled background made by layering embossing powders. The card with the gold leaves is done by using gold leaf. Messy but worth the effort! The clear acrylic container would make a wonderful hostess gift filled with goodies. Any witch would be proud to wear this cute shoe with glitter and a spider.

Happy Halloween!

Stonebridge Creations

I want to share with you 3 cards I made using these amazing 3D punch outs from Stonebridge Creations. I only purchased one sheet at the GASC in Arlington,TX which I used to make the 3 cards. I should have purchased many more. I have so many more ideas in mind from package decorations to scrapbook pages. I have already contacted the company for more. These are imported to the US from the UK. Stan, with Stonebridge Creations needs to keep these coming! I know he is working on that issue. There are many more designs at their web site http://www.stonebridgecreations.com/

On the last card I used a daisy Art Acetate from PK Glitz http://www.pkglitz.com  with white and steel glitter for the background. I then added a chipboard frame also from PK Glitz which I covered in Lemonade glitter from PK Glitz.
I have been so busy doing so many others things I have not been able to post anything new in a few days but promise to get something up this week. The Texas heat is just awful right now. It zaps you!

Some of you may already know but my dad has Alzheimer's. It is not only devastating to him but the family as well. It takes a toll on everyone. I am busy checking on him, although the care facility where he is does a great job.

I have spent the weekend working on some new cards. I saw so many great ideas and products at the GASC in Arlington,TX. I 'm having fun playing with my new toys. I'm hoping to take a collection of cards and a scrapbook page or two with me to a family reunion in July.

Hope all of you are enjoying your summer!
